Wallapalooza returns in 2021, and it’s massive

The Wallaby Hotel, Rebel FM and Pineapple Mafia recently announced that Wallapalooza will return on Saturday 20 November, and this year the epic live music event will be bigger than ever before.

Wallapalooza is the Gold Coast’s longest running independent festival and, having been held at The Wallaby Hotel for the past 12 years, the pub venue is moving the event to the Mudgeeraba Showgrounds in 2021, meaning around 5000 music lovers will now be able to attend.

The Wallaby Hotel, operated by Australian Venue Co, is synonymous with live music, holding a reputation as one of the best live music venues on the Gold Coast. Therefore, it only makes sense that its Wallapalooza event has been a breeding ground for some of the Gold Coast’s best rock, heavy and alternative bands and artists.

This year, The Wallaby is working with Rebel FM and the Pineapple Mafia crew to bring the region a huge line up of stellar national and local acts to the new Mudgeeraba Showgrounds location.

Up to 20 heavyweight acts will take to the stage including Aussie rockers Grinspoon as headliners who said: “Excited to join the Wallapalooza. This has been an interesting year to say the least and we can’t wait to see people out in the sunshine rockin!”

Joining them are The Butterfly Effect, 28 Days, Def FX and Dead Letter Circus, igniting the Gold Coast and getting live music pumping through the veins of guests. Bodyjar, one of the first bands to return to the stage in 2021 after the Melbourne lockdown, will also entertain with tracks from their first album in almost a decade, which is due to be release later this year.

The Wallaby Hotel Venue Manager and strident live music supporter, Mark Westerway added:

“Wallapalooza has been a stable part of The Wallaby’s entertainment calendar for 12 years. This year we are taking it to the next level and putting it on at the Mudgeeraba Showgrounds with the expectation of 4000 guests. Live music and The Wallaby go hand-in-hand and we are thrilled to be working alongside Rebel FM and Pineapple Mafia to put on one of the best live music events the Gold Coast has ever seen.”

To ensure eager fans are fed, food trucks for every appetite will be present.

Wallapalooza will rock the Gold Coast on Saturday 20 November at Mudgeeraba Showgrounds. Tickets won’t last long, and both initial releases have sold out already. Visit wallapalooza.com.au.
