Gold Coast youth invited to level up their practice with arts program

Young Gold Coast artists are encouraged to apply for the City of Gold Coast’s Level Up youth arts program before applications close on Sunday 21 November.

The City of Gold Coast’s Level Up youth arts program is a one-of-a-kind community program, comprising four key components:

Level Up Studio Spaces
Level Up Residency
Level Up Gallery
Public programs, events, and workshops.

The program is designed to provide art experiences for young people and adults within the local community and beyond. This is done through public programs hosting a range of creative activities, such as art workshops, artist talks, school holiday workshops, networking events and an exciting monthly exhibitions program.

This new initiative connects early career Gold Coast artists between the ages of 18 to 30 years with studio spaces to grow their arts practice and develop a new body of work.

The Level Up Studio Space program will launch in 2022. Support includes free coworking studio space for 3 months, access to peer network, and connection to industry.

The studio program is open to local visual artists between the ages of 18 and 30, with a maximum of 8 artist studios available per intake. Applications for 2022 will be for 2 intakes, January to March and April to June 2022.
